| I met Maurice online in '98, in the beginning we talked through email quite regularily, but after a couple years our correspondence slowed down and we were only emailing once in a while and having the rare conversation now and then. We hadn't really talked in sometime before I came out to him and it was for that reason, that I told him first. I knew that he was against homosexuality, but since we hadn't really been talking if he stopped talking to me I could take it. I just wanted to be out to someone who knew me before I started questioning and who I considered a good friend. So I emailed him, telling him that I was les and explained a few things. Writing the email was simple, but as soon as I hit send I started wondering if I should have done it that way. But I had no other way of telling him. A day or so later he emailed me back, not completely sure if I was just joking or if I was serious. He said unless I told him differently he would take it as serious and though he does not support alternative lifestyles he holds nothing against people who are gay and he gave me his phone number in case I wanted to talk. After four years of knowing each other we had never once mentioned phone numbers or addresses and though he was against homosexuality he still was there ready with his number. I never did call him, and I don't think I ever will, but knowing that he accepted me was all I needed. We've talked a couple times since, and we've talked about Lisa.
