The 1960 Model 95
The very earliest of the Model 95s had "suicide" doors - hinged in the "b"ack
How many of
these have you seen??!
There are reports of a few of these making it to America in the 60s, but at the time,
the sedan versions were far more popular. "Special editions", such as the Granturismo
and Monte Carlo versions were limited to the model 93 and 96 sedans, so the 95 was
perceived as more of a utility vehicle.
Interestingly, with their relative scarcity today, 95s are actually seen as more desirable
than 96s by many vintage Saab nuts (and I use the term affectionately!).
