Author’s Note: Thanks for all the reviews. Um…I wanted to say something but I forget…oh yea!Chelsea, I don’t write long paragraphs ‘cause I don’t like them :-D.

Okay, so uh heres chapter 8…enjoy.

Guy looked over at Sadie as they stood in front of the hall. She was biting her lip and looked nervous.

“You alright?” Guy squeezed her hand.

Sadie nodded.

“Ready?”he asked.

“Mm-hmm.”

“Don’t worry, it’ll be alright.” Guy whispered and smiled.

Sadie squeezed his hand back as they walked through the door.

They had sad at a table with Connie, Chris, Julie, and Adam. It had been right next to a varsity table so Chris could be near his friends. Sadie was nervous. She wouldn’t eat. She just sat their with her head down as Guy talked with some of the Ducks. They sat in a boy-girl style, Connie, Chris, Julie, Adam, Sadie, then Guy, at a round table.

Adam nudged Sadie, “Are you okay?”

“Uh-huh, just fine.” Sadie nodded.

“You sure?”

“Yup.”

“Okay then.” Adam said as a rock song ended and a slow song began. Adam took Julie’s hand and went on the dance floor.

“Can I have this dance?” Guy asked Sadie and he stood up and took her hand.

Sadie didn’t even have to answer, the smile on her face said it all. When they got on the dance floor Guy put Sadie’s arms around his neck and then put his hands on her waist.

“You look beautiful, Sadie.”

“Thank you. So do you. I mean –.”

“I know what you mean.” Guy smiled. “How are you feeling? You haven’t eaten anything.?”

“I’m alright.” Sadie said as she felt a tingeling feeling throughout her whole entire body. “Actually, I’m feeling a lot better.” Sadie smiled as she moved in closer to Guy.

“I’m happy to hear that.” Guy smiled.

After that dance they went back to the table where Sadie loosened up a bit, still her insecure self, but talked a bit more and opened up a little.

Just as Sadie started really socializing she looked over at the varsity table. She saw Cole staring at her. She stared back.

‘You know I’m gonna hurt you.’ He mouthed.

Sadie looked down. She was once again felt like nothing…hoping she would just die, right there.

At that moment Guy looked down at Sadie. Her head was down, her hands were on her laps, shaking. He took her hand, and she jumped obviously frightened.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Guy whisptered.

“I shouldn’t be here.” Sadie she her head. “They know I’m here. They know they have power over me.” She whispered.

“Don’t say that. It’ll be fine. I’m not going to let anything happen to you, I promise.” Guy squeezed her hand. He moved his chair closer to hers and had her lean against his chest, where she felt safe.

Another slow dance came upon then and Guy pulled sadie onto the dance floor.

“It feels nice to be in your arms, safe.”Sadie whispered.

“I told you I’d protect to.” Guy smiled.

And with that the power went out. A few screams were heard then a grunt and someone started running.

Sadie, who was holding Guy’s hand, had been pushed away and checked into the wall.

“Ahhhhh!”she screamed in obvious pain.’’

“Sadie?” Guy said.

But all anyone heard was laughing.

Just then the lights went back on. Guy saw Sadie, unconcious, on the floor.

“Holy shit!” Guy ran over to her, as did the rest of the Ducks.

Sadie was lying there lifelessly. Guy check for a pulse, which there was none. Some of the Ducks had already ran to get the paramedics.(Yes,I kno, why the hell are there paramedics at a dance?…because…they are.) They had gotten there a few seconds later. Check for a pulse, although Guy had informed them she had none. They then gave her CPR, which worked after a few minutes. They had diagnoised a concussion and let her know it would be smart to go to the hospital, but she refused. She was in even more pain then they knew, not to mention all of those other bruises.

Varsity didn’t feel the least bit sorry. They had almost killed her, heck! They did for a few minutes. Guy swore revenge on them.

‘One of these days…’he thought to himself.

He then saw Sadie walk out the door into the pouring rain. She had just told Julie that she would have to take a raincheck on that night.

Guy ran after her and put his hand on her shoulder.

“Don’t touch me!”she yelled.

Guy jumped back. “Huh?”

“D-d-on-t-t  t-t-ou-ou-chh  m-ee.”she cried. Tears were now rolling down her face. She was in so much pain. Her head hurt, her ribs ached, her arm hurt, not to mention she was limping.(See, more pain then she told the paramedics, but there they ones who could care less, so yea, that’s why shes leaving now…)She was gasping for air between her words, and was shaking. Guy couldn’t tell if it was because she was cold, she didn’t have a jacket, or from crying.

“Sadie, I’m—.”

“Y-or-r  s-ss-or-r-y.”she let out. “I  kn-o-o.B-b-u-t  it-t-s n-n-o-t-t  y-or-r  f-al-t-t.”

“But, I was supposed to—.”

Sadie cut him off again. “J-j-u-ss-t  g-go-o  a-way-y.” she was still crying, hard. Her make-up was coming off. To tell you the truth, she looked like shit. (That’s my opinion, not Guy’s! Sadie is me pretty much, so I really know what she looks like.) She was still gasping for air, clenching her stomach, and shaking.

Guy stopped where  he was and just watched her limp across the football field.

‘My God, Sadie, why won’t you just let me help you?’ He thought. ‘But this really is my fault, whether you want to believe it or not. I was supposed to protect you, I promised.’

Just then Guy saw Sadie collapse.  He ran up to her. She was still concious but couldn’t get up.

“Sadie?”

“J-j-us-st  l-ea-v-he  m-ee  h-er-r  t-to  d-i-hi.” Sadie said in pain.

“I’m not going to let you die.” Guy said as he picked her up and carried her to her dorm. She had stopped crying after a while. Every now and then she’d let out a scream of pain. She was still shaking. Guy  had figured out it was from being cold. He walked as fast as he could and held her her close. They had finally got to her dorm and she took a shower and got changed. To her surprise, Guy was still there when she came out of the bathroom.

The bruise on her cheekbone was showing now, but you couldn’t see any other bruised because she was wearing the same thing she had wore the first night he came over: a navy blue hoodie and blue-plaid fleece pajama pants. Although you could still see that her ankle had swelled a bit.

“How are you feeling?” Guy asked simply.

“Better, but I’m still sore and my head still hurts, and I’m a little dizzy.” She admitted as she walked to Guy.

“Here.” Guy handed her some pills. “Those will help with the pain. You should lay down.”he instructed.

She obeyed. “Thanks Guy. Sorry for being a bitch before.”

Guy felt her forehead. “You feel warm. It’s okay. I understand. u were hurt, physically and mentally. I should be the one saying sorry, I promised nothing would happen to you. Now look at you.”

“No Guy.” Sadie yawned. “It’s not your job to protect me. It’s my own fault. I should have –.” Sadie yawned again and was about to continue but Guy cut her off.

“I think you should get some sleep. We can talk more in the morning. I’ll wat here until you fall asleep.” Guy said.

“Thank you, Guy. Night…”was all Sadie could get out before drifting off to La-La land.

“Night, Sadie.” Guy said as he kissed her on the forehead. He noticed that her head was still farely warm so he got a wet wash cloth and put it on her forehead.  He sat there for awhile. Just watching her sleep. It was so peaceful. Guy had waited until her heard noised in the halls. Then he found Julie and Connie.

“Hey.” He said as they said good-bye to Adam and Chris. Guy gave a nasty glare to Chris, but nobody noticed.

Chris left, but Adam stayed.

“How’s Sadie doing?” Adam asked.

“Alright, I guess. She’s sleeping now.” Guy yawned. “I’ll talk to you in the morning. I’m pretty tired, watching a person sleep for about 2 hours can make a person tired.” Guy laughed.

“Aww, how sweet.” Julie smiled.

“Night, guys. We’re tired too.” Connie yawned as she pulled Julie into the dorm.

Author’s Note:What did you think? There isn’t much information on the whole pouring rain thing because I added it in so I could do something later in the story, but lets just say it was raining outside while they were going back to the dorms, kay?
