Author’s Note:Thanks everyone for understanding! Also, that for all the reveiws and the amazing summer I had. My summer would definitely not be the same if I didn’t find FF.net while searching things on The Mighty Ducks. You all are amazing authors and I can’t wait to continue you reading all these fics!
This chapter is not made to be 100% realistic. It just sort of has to be the way it is, I guess. And I’ve had this chapter written for awhile, it’s just the matter of typing it…
So heres the new chapter…enjoy!
Oh yeah, and this chapter is dedicated to Percussion. There’s a special part in here just for you!

After 2 days, Samantha was fully concious again, and after a week the Ducks were able to talk to her in person. Before they’d talk to her on the phone. But she remained in the hospital for awhile, while some of her more serious injuries healed.
She didn’t remember what happened or a couple recent details about her life. Nothing major, little things like the name of the school she went to(Eden Hall) or the new hockey coach’s name(Ted Orion). She didn’t remember what Guy had said the day she was hit by lightning, and Guy was happy about that.
You could tell she was in pain most of the time. They didn’t give her pain killers too often. Pain killers can make you drowsy(sleepy) and being droswy while having a concussion was never a good thing.(you’re not supposed to sleep a while lot ‘cause you might go unconcious…I know this ‘cause I’ve had a concussion.) But it wasn’t really her ankle that caused the pain, it was her ribs, and she often got headaches. She couldn’t move too much, every time she did, she winced in pain.
Ms. Leeway came to the hospital a few times a week to give her school work or to teach her a little bit. Samantha didn’t mind really. It gave her something to do. The Ducks normally came after school or hockey practice. But with the JV/Varsity Showdown coming up they had to practice, a lot. But sometimes Orion would let Guy leave early. He knew what it was like to have a loved one in the hospital. And her mom, Claire, came after work or before, normally. She still needed to work, to get paid.
Samantha had missed a lot of things though. Han’s death and funeral. The board trying to revoke the scholarships and Bombay coming back, but he did stop by to see her for a few minutes, before he left. She missed Adam being reunited with the Ducks. And she regretted not being there in a time of need.
Sometime only one or two Ducks would come to see Samantha. She understood. They had homework, test, and hockey practices and games.
Once, just Adam came.
“Hey Adam.” Samantha said as Adam walked through the door. She never called him Banks, Canksie, or Cake-Eater, and he liked that.
“Hey. What’s up?”Adam smiled.
“Nothing really. Homework. I heard you’re back on JV.”
“Yup. It’s great being back with the Ducks.”
“I bet.” Samantha gave a small smile.
Adam pulled a chair up next to the bed. “You’ll be back with us soon. When do you get out?”
Samantha shrugged. “I don’t know. Probably not before the JV/Varsity game.”
Just then the docter walked in. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that. That’s next Friday , right, almost 2 weeks from now.”He smiled.
“What do you mean?” Samantha tilted her head.
“Well, you’ve been here about 2 weeks and you seem quite healthy. You’re healing well and your heart beat is back to a normal, steady pattern. By next Friday, there’s a very good chance you’ll be able to go, with crutches, obviously.”the docter explained.
“Oh my god! Are you serious?” Samantha’s face lit up.
“Yup. I have to go finish my rounds, but I’ll be back later.” The doctor said and left.
“Congratulations!” Adam said as he hugged Samantha and kissed her on the cheek.
Samantha had a really big smile, and was blushing. “Thanks Adam.”
“Wow, this is big news! Who do you want to call first?”
“No one. Adam, you can’t tell anyone. I want to surprise them. Promise me you won’t tell anyone.”
“Okay. I promise. I gotta go get to hockey practice. See-ya later.” Adam smiled.
“Bye.” Samantha blushed.

The 2 weeks went by slow. The only people who knew when Samantha was likely to leave were some people at the hospital, doctors and nurses, Adam, her mom, Coach Orion, Casey Conway, and herself.
Coach Orion would sometimes come to see Samantha. Update her on the teams progress and ask for her opionions on things. He had also helped her make plans to get to the JV/Varsity Showdown. He even promised to let her sit with the Ducks at the game.
*
The Friday of the game finally came. Guy, Luis, Connie, Jesse, and Adam came to visit Samantha right after school for a few minutes.
“Hey.” Luis smiled as he walked though the door with the rest of them.
“Hey guys.” She smiled. “What’s up?”
“Just stopped by to say hi before the game.” Connie said.
“Thanks, good luck tonight.”
“Thanks.” They said in unison.
“Too bad you can’t come.” Jesse shrugged.
“Yea. But I’ll be there with you guys in your hearts.” Samantha smiled and looked at Adam, who winked.
“We’ll still miss you though.” Guy frowned.
“Well, I’ll miss you guys, too. You guys should really be going so you’re not late.”
“Yea, she’s right.” Adam nodded.
“Be careful out there you guys.”
“We will.” Connie smiled.
A few minutes after the Ducks left she befan getting ready to leave. Her doctor and some nurses unhooked her from the equipment and helped her to the bathroom, where she could get changed. Then, she was fitted for her crutches and waited for Casey Conway to come and pick her up. Ms. Conway told Samantha she would bring her to the game.
“Ready hun?” Ms. Conway asked as she walked into the waiting room.
“Yup.” Samantha smiled as Ms. Conway helped her balance onto her crutches.
The car ride to the game was silent. When they rinally got to the rink, the game hadn’t started yet, the players were still in the locker room. Ms. Conway helped Samantha down to the Ducks’ bench then went to find a seat.
Samantha was sitting with anticipation, waiting for the Ducks to come onto the ice.
…
Finally, there they were, skating out onto the ice, paying respect to Hans. Samantha just smiled. There were the Ducks. Her family. She waited for one of them to finally realize she was there. Sitting next ot coach Orion, who was telling her updates on the players. Things like how Goldberg was their new defense weapon.
Adam obviously knew about Samantha being there, but he promised not to tell anyone. He just continued warming up until some actually realized she was there.
Connie stopped skating. “Oh my god!” she smiled as she stared at the bench.
“What?” Charlie asked as he skated next to her.
“Look!” Connie continued to smile and pointed at the bench.
Charlie smiled. “Hey Guy?”
“Yea?” Guy asked and skated behind Charlie.
“There’s a present for you on the bench.”
“What do you mean?” Guy asked confused.
Charlie just smiled and moved out of the way.
Guy’s face lit up as he saw Samantha talking to Orion. He didn’t say anything he just skated over to the bench. “what are you doing here?” he smiled.
“I told you I’d be here Guy Germaine.” Samantha smiled back as her brother picked her up off the bench she was sitting on, bringing her into his embrace. “Guy, be careful, my ankle.” She winced as her ankle hit the wall seperated the ice from the bench.
“I’m sorry. Are you okay?” Guy said as he gently put her back down.
“It’s okay. I’m fine.” She assured.
“Are you back to stay?”
“You better believe it!” she smiled. “I think you should go finish warming up.”
Orion nodded at Samantha’s comment.
“Uh, yeah. We’ll talk later, okay?”
Samantha just nodded. Then Orion helped her get onto the high bench to make room for the players.
*
All the Ducks were happy to see Samantha. But they couldn’t celebrate yet, they had a game to play.
Guy sat up on the higher bench with Samantha, waiting for the game to start or a line change. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
“I wanted to surprise you. Are you mad?”
“No.” Guy smiled. “I missed you.”
“I missed you, too. Good luck out there, Guy.” Samantha smiled. “Pay attention.” She said as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
…
“And Les Averman just got leveled! He must be seein’ stars!” the announcer announced.(haha!Sorry, I couldn’t think of anything else.)
“Averman, are you okay?” Connie asked as she poked him right after he sat down.
“Stop poking!” he yelled.
“Just making sure you still had feeling in your body.” Connie giggled.
Averman gave her a tired glare.
“Okay, lets try something easier. How many fingers am I holding up?”
“Coach!” Averman whined.
“Moreau, Wu, change it up!” Orion yelled.
“That worked better then I planned.” Connie smiled as she slid her helmet over her face.
*
Samantha watched nervously as the Ducks were checked into the boards.
All of a sudden, Guy was checked into the board and he wasn’t getting up.
It was silent beside the faint laughter of Varsity players.
“C’mon ref! Call something!” Orioin yelled.
Whispers filled the stands as the athletic trainer went out onto the ice.
“How could you not call something?! What are you fu—.”Samantha started yelling, but Russ clamped his hand over Samantha’s mouth.
“Samantha Lynn Germaine, I have never heard you swear in your life and I’m not going to start. None of us talk that way around you.” Russ scolded.
Samantha rolled her eyes. She hated when people called her by her full name.
“Fucking idiots.” Charlie mumbled.
“You might want to take that back. And, yes, you do swear in front of me. But most of the time you try and cover my ears, but that never really works.” Samantha smiled, then looked at Guy and her smile faded.
‘Are you going to be okay?’ she mouthed.
Guy just nodded.
‘I love you.’
‘Ditto.’ Guy gave a small smile.
…
It was almost the third period and Samantha wanted to go see Guy. She didn’t say anthing, but the worried expression on her face said it all. It was like the one Guy had when Samantha went missing and was in the hospital. Orion had told Jesse to go with her, for saftey reasions.
They finally got to the locker room. It took longer then they expected, but then again, you have a girl on crutches and a boy in hockey gear and skates.
“Are you okay?” Samantha asked as she sat down next to him.
“Yup.”
“Are you lying?”
“Have I ever lied to you.” Guy asked.
Samantha still didn’t remember what happened the day she was hit by lightning, so she simply replied, “No.”
“Alright then.”
“It’s just that I don’t want you to get seriously injured.”
“He’s gonna be fine.” Jesse reassured. “I just talked to the the trainer and he said you’ll be able to play in the final period.”
Guy smiled. “Told ya.”
Samantha just stuck her tongue out and wrinkled her nose.
*
“…and he passes it back to…Goldberg!”The announcer said.
“Shoot, Goldberg, shoot!” The Ducks yelled!
“Goldberg shoots and he scores!Ducks win!”The announcer continued.
Celebration among the Ducks commenced.(sorry if I used that word wrong…it just sounded right…)
The Ducks filed out of the bench area. Cheering Goldberg. Right after they we’re shown that the Ducks symbol was staying at Eden Hall, Guy skated back to the bench and carried Samantha onto the ice. It was a good night.

The End…
Actually, it isn’t the end. I couldn’t do that to you, ‘cause this would be one crappy ending. I don’t know when I’ll get the next chapter up, but I’ll try for within the next few weeks! Thanks everyone for reviewing!
