Authors Note(I Recommend that you read this):Okay, so everybody is getting along fine. I’ve decided to not write a chapter for during the Goodwill Games Sorry. Maybe I will at a later time, but my Eden Hall Ideas are killing me, not to mention I can’t thing of anything for during the Goodwill Games. But I will make up some storys from the Goodwill Games so it’s not like they didn’t go.
So as you can probably guess asll the new players have gotten close, to their teammates and Samantha, who is now 11. I know most people( in CT atleast) start highschool when they’re 13,14, or 15, but not in this story, just ‘cause that’s the way I want it and ‘cause I say so(not meaning to sound boddy or anything). So, it’s January and an Eden Hall scout has coe to see the Ducks play before they go to Eden Hall in September.
**-Flashback
Chelsea-Sorry, I don’t plan to make Adam gay, but maybe she will like him. Thanks for all the ideas, like this one and “Tension” for ‘One Messed Up World” luv ya hun.
The following players are going to Eden Hall.(Listed in two’s for rooming assignments.):
Charlie Conway and Jesse Hall
Lester Averman and Greg Goldberg
Dean Portman and Fulton Reed
Connie Moreau and Julie Gaffney
Guy Germaine and Adam Banks
Russ Tyler and Dwayne Robertson
Luis Mendoza and Ken Wu
They were playing a friendly game at the pond, the scout, Susan Leeway, watching them.
Samantha was sitting at her usual bench, watching the Ducks play, but not her usaul smiling, giggling-self. Guy noticed this but waited until the end of the game to check on her.
*
Now the game was over and the Ducks, besides Guy, skated over to meet Ms.Leeway. Guy skated over to Samantha.
“Hey.” Guy smiled.
Samantha just sort of waved her hand, pathetically.
“What’s wrong?” Guy asked his ‘on the verge of tears’ sister. She wouldn’t even look him in the eyes, she didn’t want him to see her cry. He only saw her cry twice.(stories will be in a later chapter.)So, she just sort of shurgged.
“Look at me”
And Samantha looked up and when she blink at tear came rolling down. “I’m gonna miss ya, Guy”she whispered whiping her eyes.
Guy hadn’t really thought of leaving her. It had just really hit him. Without him she would barely speak to anyone. He was really all she ever had, and now she was losing that. “I’m gonna miss you too. But I’;; come by and visit sometimes and I’ll call everyday.)
“It won’t be the same.”
“I know. Come here.) guy said as he took his sister into a hug and picked her up. Shew as small for her age. She was in fifth grade, and had just turned 11. She was 4’8 and was thin, roughly 90 pounds and Guy was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 150. whiwhc was mostly muscle but he was an average weight for his height and so was Samantha. Picking her up was no problem, even for Connie, Julie, and Ken, not that they name a habit of picking her up or anything. Samantha started to cry lightly and Guy squeezed her.
“Don’t mess it up out there.” Samantha whispered in Guy’s ear before he put her down.
“I won’t.” Guy smiled. “Whenever I score a goal I will be thinking of you.” He said and he kneeled down to hug her again.
…
“Who’s that?” asked Susan Leeway pointing at a boy and girl hugging.
“Guy Germaine?” Averman questioned.
“No,no,no. Of coarse I know who he is! Who’s that girl he’s hugging?”
“Samantha, his sister. She’s probably taking this pretty hard. Guy is all she has, along with the Ducks, but Guy’s more important.” Jesse spoke up.
“Oh, where are their parents?”
“Guy’s parents got divoirced when Samantha was one and Guy’s mom works all day at a resturant. You wouldn’t believe how much he means to her or how much he cares for her. God, that girl may not be here if it wasn’t for him. He;s so protective of her. Not to mention he practically raised her. Taught her the majority of the things she knows. There are gonna be a lot of tears when he leaves for Eden Hall.” Connie explained.
“Oh, I see. Is this going to affect his playing?”
“Maybe. Probably not.” Connie shook her head and laughed. “He starts to slack off and Samantah wiill come to Eden Hall and beat him up…well yell at him, atleast. He’ll miss her a lot, but Samantha refuses to let him slack, hockey or school. She finds out he’s slipping and he’ll go off in hiding and vie-sa ver-sa. We’ll all miss her though. She’s like family and our lucky charm. It’s gonna be hard to leave her here, but she wouldn’t let us stay, anyway, and pass up an opportunity like this. She loves us way too much.”
The rest of the Ducks nodded in agreement.
“Oh, wow! I didn’t now anyone could be that close!” Sudan laughed. “What do you mean by lucky charm?”
“We’ve barely lost a game with her sitting on the bench. It won’t be the same without her.” Jesse sighed.
There was silence for about 5 minutes. Just staring at Guy and Samantha, sitting on the bench. Samantha was leaning against Guy’s arm. She was tired, they traveled about 3 hours today, traveling always wore her out.
**All the Ducks had to remember when they went to the Goodwill Games in L.A.. They left really early in morning. 1 hour to the airport, 6 hours on the plane, 1 hour to a bus station, 3 hours to the hotel they were staying at. Then after they checked into the hotel they wanted to see one of the rinks they would be practicing and playing games at, there was an hour there and an hour back. Then they decided to walk a couple blocks to find something to eat. On the way back, about a block away from the hotel Samantha almost passed out. She didn’t say anything, she wasn’t one to complain. But Guy could tell. He picked her up and carried her back to the hotel, she fell asleep in his arms.
Traveling never bothered any of the Ducks, maybe it was because she was 5 years younger than them.
The rest of the time there was alright. Although they did do a lot of traveling. Everytime they went to the hotel, even if it was only the afternoon, she would sleep. Samantha could never seem to fall asleep while riding in any type of transportation. But sleeping a lot sometimes worried Guy. A year before the Goodwill Games she was skating on the pond, fell and hit her head on the goal. She was unconsious for 2 days and had gotten a concussion. The doctor said to watch how much she sleeps because sh could go unconsious again. So, Guy would check on her every hour, and normally woke her up after 2 or 3 hours of sleep unless it was during the night.**
Now even a 2 hour drive got her tired.
…
“I have an idea!”Susan Leeway broke the silence excitedly.
The Ducks looked at her strangely.
“I’ll be right back.”she said as she walked away taking out her cell phone.
Ring…Ring…
“Hello?Dean Buckley?
“Yes, it’s Susan Leeway.”
