Retired Dogs |
|
|
|
We sometimes consider placing our retired dogs in another home where they can receive more individual attention, but mostly they stay right here, living a pampered life as our cherished companions. If you are interested in adopting a retired sled dog, you may contact us at [email protected] or call us at 208-558-7759. If we do not have one that we can bear to part with, we probably can steer you to someone who does. |

Goldie was 15 years old when she passed away. We think she may have been half beagle and half yellow labrador. She was pressed into service as a sled dog and a leader, but speed was never her strong suit. Click on her picture to learn more about her and her racing experience! |

Rose is 13 years old. She was Janet's first Alaskan Husky and a fast leader in her day. She still loves to run for fun, but now she is too slow to keep up with even the slowest team. Click on her picture to learn more about her. |

Ghost was my main leader for many years. He is now twelve years old and has been retired from racing but is still invaluable as a training leader. Click on his picture to read more about him. |

Comet was a fast, smooth-gaited dog who ran on winning sprint teams as well as our competitive distance team. A competent leader, she retired to a recreational team in Colorado before passing away rather suddenly from heart trouble. Click on her picture to learn more about her. |

Luna was my best command leader. At eleven years old, she has been retired from our racing teams but sometimes goes out for an easy stress-free run with a slower team. She is a littermate to Comet. Click on her picture for the inside scoop. |

Fresca is one of my favorites and lives in the house. She is a super tough, energetic dog, who was one of my best leaders. She was still running with the main string at nine years old but had to be retired when a car shattered her left hip. She is now eleven years old. Click on her picture to learn more about her. |
