Dream Sheet Rune
This method uses a rune dream sheet. Generally
made of paper, posterboard, cardboard, or wood, the
rune sheet can be used as a tool for dreaming and
meditation. You can easily make your own rune sheet
by cutting a piece of paper twelve inches (30 cm)
long by six inches (15 cm) wide and drawing the
three aettir of the Elder Futhark on the sheet in
black ink, in three vertical rows of eight each.
Just before you go to sleep, light a votive candle,
one that can safely burn down all the way as you sleep.
Place the rune dream sheet on your bedside table or on
the wall so that the light of the candle illuminates the
runic symbols drawn on it. Move your attention completely
to the rune dream sheet, and notice if one of the runic
symbols seems to draw your attention more than the others.
Place your finger on that rune for a few moments. Lie back,
and as you drift off to sleep visualize that particular rune,
repeating its name over and over silently, giving yourself
the suggestion that you will see that specific rune in your
dream, and that you will remember your dream when you wake up
long enough to write it down. When you wake up, write down
which rune you focused on and any details you recall about your
dream.
You can also use this method for answering a question. Just
before going to sleep, concentrate on a simple question and
run your fingers over the rune dream sheet. Notice if your
finger seems to stop or stick on any particular rune(s). Does
any rune feel different to you as you do this? Whichever rune
stands out or sticks out is the rune that is most influential
in regard to your question. As you drift off to sleep, focus
on the rune, repeating its name over and over in your mind.
