The Darkest Hour
For millions of years, there has been a war going on between the forces of the Underworld and the Overworld. However being both equal in their strengths and weaknesses, they have always fought to a standstill. But there is a way to tip the balance for each side: taking a being from the Humanworld, and granting him or her the powers of dark or light.
The procedure of granting a being of the Humanworld divine powers drains a lot of power from the granter of the power and doing it too often threatens to upset the balance of the worlds and may cause chaos at a cataclysmic level. Because of this, only one world, Upper or Under, may chose someone from the Humanworld to be their champion. However, because it is no easy task for a being of lower origins to bear the weight of dark or light, he or she must be carefully selected and tested. To this date, nobody has ever passed the tests.
Oblivious of the chaos going on above and below them, the beings of the Humanworld go on, living their lives as usual. The center of the Humanworld, is Earth. A planet ruled by humans. However, all this is about to change, as a boy named Klay is about to become chosen to posses the powers of the dark and is thrown into a world that he cannot comprehend, but ultimately, his choices could affect the outcome of all three worlds.
