Intro:
Another SoA made Sonic game, Sonic Spinball uses characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. In this game, Sonic is the pinball and gets whacked around while collecting Chaos Emeralds.

Story:
Sonic and Tails raid Dr. Robotnik's Veg-O-Fortress, where he is turning animals into robots. However, before they can get close, their plane gets shot down. Rather than drowning, some aquatic friends help Sonic reach the bottom of the the Veg-O-Fortress where he starts to climb his way to the top to confront Robotnik! However, Sonic must do so using Robotnik's Pinball defence system - the whole mountain is a giant pinball machine!

The Game:
In this game, you must guide Sonic through several pinball machines. In order to complete a level, you must collect a set number of Chaos Emeralds, which in turn need a few pinball-related tasks completed to reach them. Once you've done this, you have to defeat a devious boss, then move onto the next level, after a quick mini-game of 'real' (i.e. Sonic isn't the ball) round of pinball.
