Sonic Battle

Sonic later admitted his head was more flammable than usual.

Intro:
Sonic Battle is the second Sonic beat 'em up after Sonic Championship. Using characters who appeared in the Sonic Adventure series, Battle adopts a less traditional format, with 3D stages generated on the GBA.

Story:
Dr. Eggman is at it again. He's discovered an ancient robot capable of limitless power, and soon he will take over the world! ...That is, of course, if he could get the darned thing to work. Infuriated by his lack of progress, Eggman nicks the basic design of the robot to make his own, more loyal versions, then dumps the machine.

As fate would have it, the robot is discovered on the beach by Sonic the Hedgehog. The robot becomes very attached to Sonic, and starts to mimic him. Sonic takes him to Tails to see what he can decipher, and it becomes apparent that others want the robot for themselves.

Regardless, Sonic keeps the robot around. After finding out that the robot uses Chaos Emeralds for power, he names him Emerl (Emerl, emerald. Geddit?). However, all is not as it seems.

The Game:
Sonic Battle is a fighter, similar in ways to the Super Smash Bros. series, yet the stages are isometric. You can take control of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Cream/Cheese, Rouge, Chaos and E-102 Gamma and Emerl and beat the living tar out of the opponent. You can work in teams of two, with either a computer controlled character or a friend via link-up.

The new character, Emerl, starts the game with very limited skills. As you play through the story mode, he learns more moves through observation (or through being pouded repeatedly, which ever comes first). You can assign the moves to him, but they require 'skill points' to work. Emerl gains more skill points as he gains experience.
