Sonic Advance 2

Sonic advance to what?

Intro:
Sonic Advance 2 looks very similar to Sonic Advance graphically, however the backgrounds are much more vibrant. The main difference in the sequel compared to the origianl is that the game is much, much faster. It also introduces a new chatacter named Cream the Rabbit, who is followed about by her Chao who goes by the name of Cheese. What makes the character different is that the Chao can be used as a suicidal dive-bomber, attacking enemies near by.

Story:
Sonic's friends have been kidnapped! Assuming that it was Eggman and there was no kind of randsom involved, Sonic sets out to get them back.

The Game:
As previously mentioned, Sonic Advance 2 is a very fast game. Determined by the amount of rings you have, your acceleration increases (a la Mario Kart), and once you've been running for a certain amount of time, you start a speed boost where you run like a hedgehog (fox, echidna, rabbit) possesed!

Also new to the series are the bosses. As opposed to the usual boss on the second act, there is a third 'Boss Attack!' act at the end of each zone. These bosses are constantly moving away from you, like the Mushroom Hill boss in Sonic & Knuckles.

Special stages are reached by collecting seven 'SP Rings', scattered about on each act. Once you've collected them all, you must reach the end of the level without losing a life. In doing so, you enter the special stage similar in layout to the ones found in Sonic CD, where you must collect certain amounts of rings whilst avoiding that irritable robot from Sonic Advanture, ZERO.

To cater to the new rollercoaster styled fast gameplay, new moves have been added. These are activated when presing the R trigger when launcing off platforms from springs and the like. They act in four directions (up, down, left and right) and give you a little extra distance on your jump, helping you reach that high platform.
