Sega Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic, Ray and Mighty all sharing a title screen. Must have been cramped.

Intro:
Sega Sonic the Hedgehog was an arcade game with a limited release. It introduced characters Mighty the Armadillo (a Sonic prototype design) and Ray the Flying Squirrel. The arcade machine was played with a trackball, which you span around to run. Often called by the misnomer Sega Sonic Arcade.

Story:
Sonic, Mighty and Ray are captured by Eggman! They soon escape and set out to destroy Eggman's base together.

The Game:
The game was an isometric platformer (with the same perspective as Sonic 3D). Each of the three characters played in the same way, and you could have all of them playing at once. The game had critical acclaim, but a very limited release.
