1997-98 Annual Report

Performance

As mentioned earlier, this season has been our most successful since entering the Senior competition with the Senior team showing a late run of form to capture the 1-Day competition with a crushing victory over their Wairau counterparts. In their last seven innings no team has scored over 150 runs against them. This reversal of form is due in no small part to the contribution of Dave Win as coach and to the improved stability of the team over the past season.

The second grade team had a mixed season with a couple of bad games denying them a chance of a semi-final berth in a closely fought competition.

There was again much enthusiasm in the third grade sides with both of these teams also having mixed seasons, affected mainly by player unavailability.

In the Junior section where we fielded 9 teams (incl. 4 in non-competition grades), we had 2 teams win their respective competitions.
