The Banzai Kamikaze, traditionally one of the league's highest scoring franchise, found themselves at a modest 4-3 after week 7. GM Tim Brehm inspired the team to turn things around, and they responded. The rest of the season the Kamikaze would only lose to the Louisville Losers. Sporting a franchise high 10-4 record and securing the 3rd seed in the playoffs. The playoffs gave Banzai several tests. A first round game against 8-6 Buckeye. The record was misleading, for after a slow start, there were few teams hotter than the Beasts. Banzai was up to the task and defeated Buckeye. The next test came against 11-3 Martins Ferry, the number 2 seed in the tournament. Again, the Kamikaze won the game and found themselves in Shaker Bowl V, their first appearance. The opponent was the Louisville Loser, the only team to defeat Banzai in the second half. In a tough, back-and-forth contest, Louisville eventually prevailed, once again sending Banzai home with a loss.

With defending champion Louisville not returning this season, The Seibu Samurai as they are now called are the CDFL's top ranking team. GM Tim Brehm has assembled a potent lineup with quality at every position. QB Donovan McNabb and backup QB Tom Brady are the field generals that will guide the team down the field. Stand out WR Joe Horn and returning Banzai player WR Reggie Wayne handle the aerial assult, while RB Julius Jones and RB Fred Taylor handle the ground game. Seibu took two standout tight ends in Jay Witten and Dallas Clark. One of the league's best kickers Mike Vanderjagt also suits up for Seibu.

The Samurai definitely have the talent and look defend their name and honor on the field of battle this season. WR Joe Horn and GM Tim Brehm look to phone in their reservation for the fall playoffs.
