The 2004 season seemed to be over for the Wilmywood Digression in week seven. The team was 2-5 and had a tough schedule still remaining. Like so many years in the past, Wilmywood lived up to the challenge and ran off six straight wins. Despite losing the final game of the season, the Digression once again found themselves in the playoffs. A first round meeting with Martins Ferry ended the season, but the ability of the team and GM Mike Voorheis to continually overcome the odds was noted.
This season, the newly named Wilmington Surface looks to take a further step in the post season. The team has three solid QBs coming off the bench in Favre, Leftwich and Delhomme. All Pro WR Marvin Harrison will score through the air while RB Jamal Lewis tears up the ground game. With WR Nate Burleson, returning Wilmington star TE Alge Crumpler and WR Laverneous Coles setting the stage, the Surface have the tools to challenge for the title this season.
