The former champion Alvada Horned Dogs were the most dominant team in the league last year. They not only won games, but as Wallachia and Cleveland discovered in back to back weeks, they destroyed them. The Horned Dogs scored early and often. A one point loss to Apex prevented Alvada from tieing the all-time CDFL winning record of 12-2.

Unfortunately for Alvada, their dominance ended in the regular season. One of their three regular season losses was to Tempe, their first round opponent. In a shoot-out, the number 8 seed Tantrums dismissed a stunned number 1 Alvada in opening round play. The Horned Dogs went on to lose in the consulation rounds, eventually finishing 7th overall.

GM Jon Werner has regrouped and looks to become a two time CDFL champion. QB Carson Palmer will drive the Horned Dogs with improved play this year. RB Willis McGahee and RB Steven Jackson will lead the way, and significant contributions from RB Lamont Jordan. WR Roy Williams and WR Eric Moulds will help Alvada throught the air, but their main focus will be the strong ground game. One of the best in the business, TE Antonio Gates will will Alvada make the playoffs again.
