CHEATING/PLAGERISM/ACADEMIC DISHONESTY
Plagerism is the use of another person's original ideas or writing as one's own without giving credit to the true author. Plagerism will be considered cheating and the student will be subject to academic disiplinary action that may include loss of credit for the work in question. Teachers who have reason to believe a student has engaged in cheating or other academic dishonesty will determine the academic penalty to be assessed. The use of academic penalties is not governed by the policies pertaining to student discipline, but students and parents may appeal the teacher's decision, using the sutdent complaint policy. Students found to have engaged in academic dishonesty will be subject to disiplinary penalties as well, according to the student code of conduct.
