SECRETS Steiner�s Pluto hunting Location: Alexandria When you first take control of Steiner there is a small sub quest to be completed here, you must give orders to all of the knights of Pluto in order to receive an Elixir, Their locations are as follows.
Blutzen and Kohel move around as a team so you only have to talk to one of them, once you have given all of the knights their orders go back and talk to Breireicht again to receive your Elixir.
Your Treasure Rank No one can really help you with this one, it�s all up to you, basically the more treasure chests that you find and the more Chocograph�s you dig up�the better your Rank will be. If you attain an S Rank go and see the four armed man in daguerreo to receive an S rank medal.
Captain Dagger Location: Alexandria When Alexandria is under attack you can earn yourself a pair of Angel earrings if you correctly order the knights of Pluto to their tasks, the correct orders are as follows:
Items for Kupo nut�s Location: Gizamalukes Grotto Every time you find yourself in possession of a Kupo nut go to Gizamalukes Grotto and see the Moogles there, give them the Kupo nuts to receive helpful items such as Tents and Elixirs.
Happy skipping Location: Alexandria This mini game is one of the most annoying mini games your ever likely to play, first have Vivi or Eiko in your group then talk to the three girls skipping in the town centre, they will let you have a go. The idea is to press the x button to jump the rope as the girls swing it round, the speed of the rope increases the more successful you are at skipping, Prizes can be earned here.. If you have the patience!
The festival of the hunt Location: Lindblum This mini game is very easy to do. Just kill anything you come across. When you reach the end of the hunt you will be faced by a Zaghnol, this is where you decide who will win the hunt. If you want Zidane to win make sure Zidane hits the finishing blow to the Zaghnol, if you want Freya to win have her do the finishing blow and if you want Vivi to win have the Zaghnol defeat both Zidane and Freya. The prizes are as follows:
Catching frogs Location: Qu�s marsh All over the world you will find marshes that contain frogs, Quina loves frogs and it is up to you to catch them. Catching them isn�t to hard but you must leave at least one male & Female frog in each marsh so you can come back later to catch some more. If you don�t leave a male & female the marsh will spawn them again but it takes a lot of time before it does. To catch the frogs simply stand still until a frog jumps out of the water and onto the path, then rush towards it and press x when your close enough. You wont catch it all the time but you will eventually get them. The prizes for your success are as follows
To obtain the last item you must fight Quale, He isn�t that hard but you must be levelled up and powered up to fight him, His stats are as follows: HP: 65,535 MP: 3,680 Lvl. 76 Weakness: man eater, Thunder
An Exciting Race Location: Alexandria When in Alexandria you can race against hippaul down the main street, fans of track & field will love this part. The race is played by alternately pressing the x button and the square button, pressing them faster makes you run faster. Every so often hippaul will get faster as you beat him and his mother will award you items as a thank you. The rewards are as follows:
HADES Location: Memoria Hades is a secret boss monster that is hidden from the mere mortal players...but we reveal where he�s hiding. There is a niche on the right in the birth room that seems to serve no purpose� wrong; this is where Hades is hiding, go down the niche and keep pressing x, when you get about half way down the niche a message will come up on the screen asking you to go on or turn back, if you pick go on you will enter the fight with Hades. His stats are as follows: HP: 55,535 MP: 9,999 Lvl. 92 Hades is extremely powerful and for those of you that are not at high levels shouldn�t even attempt to fight him. When you do fight him you should protect against various status effects and if possible, curse. Hades has only one weakness and that is against holy, remember that you average hp for your characters should be above 5000 if you are to fight him. When you do beat him he will open up the best synthesis shop on the game. The Treno monsters Depending on when you visit the Weapons Shop in Treno, you can have one character duel with a monster that the owner has caught and caged under the floor. You can fight one monster during Disc 2, one of two different monsters during Disc 3, and only one on disc 4. The Weapon Shop monsters don't reward you with any EXP or AP, but the store clerk will give you a prize for each monster you defeat.
SIDEQUESTS Chocobo hot & cold game This is the most frustrating and annoying game I have ever played, but it is almost essential that it be done. The first step is to find choco�s forest garden, you can find it by looking through the telescope at the tower in Lindblum. Once there you can play choco hot and cold until you have found all of the chocograph�s there, after this you must travel to the other gardens to finish the game. Choco�s lagoon Continue digging up Chocograph�s in the Chocobo's Forest until Choco tells Mene that there are no more Chocograph�s to find. Once the party has a vehicle, pilot the party to the small strip of islands south of the western Forgotten Continent. Land on the island where you see chocobo tracks, and use a Gysahl Green to summon Choco. Choco must have the REEF ability to travel in the light blue colored water areas to find Chocobo's Lagoon. Ride Choco north across the reefs in this area, curving south until you reach an island with a cave visible in the side, close to the reef. When you see the "?" appear, ride in with Choco. This is Chocobo's Lagoon! Mene appears and offers to let you search the area for 30 seconds at 30 Gil a shot. With the REEF ability, the light blue colored chocobo can only search the shallow portions of the area. Once he earns the SEA ability, the dark blue chocobo can search the entire area for 60 seconds at 60 Gil. Note that, you must have a red chocobo before you can have the ocean chocobo. To acquire the ocean chocobo, you must return to Chocobo Forest with the red chocobo. Choco�s air garden After finding all of the Chocograph�s in Chocobo's Lagoon, Mene indicates that it's time to find Chocobo's Air Garden. The whereabouts of this mysterious place is indicated by the clues inscribed on the back of the six Chocograph Pieces. You must dig up all six of these pieces in the "Chocobo Hot and Cold game." After finding them all, the Chocograph that leads you to the gold-colored chocobo SKY ability immediately becomes available. Most of the Chocograph Pieces indicate a location on the World Map. Fly to each location with the gold Choco and search for a small black shadow on the ground. When you find the shadow, hover Choco directly over it and then take Choco up into the sky. Feed Choco a Dead Pepper, which temporarily increases Choco's abilities, to find the Air Garden. After Mene arrives, you can play the "Chocobo Hot and Cold Game" here to find the remaining Chocograph�s. Search along the two islands floating among the clouds, but don't hop to the other one until you're sure there are no more treasures on the isle you're currently on. Choco�s paradise After finding all of the Chocograph�s and digging up their corresponding treasures, it's time to head to Chocobo's Paradise. You'll need a Dead Pepper, an item you can find while playing "Chocobo Hot and Cold." Pilot your gold chocobo to the most north-western part of the World Map, where you'll find a hidden island. There's a forest for Choco to land in and a small mountain nearby. Look for a large crack on the side of the mountain. Move Choco across the ground to the crack, and then open the menu (press the Triangle button) and use a Dead Pepper. Choco will dig open the entrance to Chocobo's Paradise. Now ride Choco to the right, where he will use the fountain as a springboard to leap up to the high platform. This is where Fat Chocobo presides. At this stage, the Fat Chocobo will indicate that there are still treasures to find on the World Map. Also, you are now able to understand all of the chocobo�s when they speak. The chocobo seated to the left of Fat Chocobo will give you 99 Dead Peppers. All the rest of the chocobo�s, including the two near the entrance, provide clues as to the whereabouts of treasures hidden in the world that you can find by using Dead Peppers. If you've found all of the treasures, Fat Chocobo dictates that Choco must stay in Chocobo's Paradise. He gives you the ultra-rare Fat Chocobo Card, as if it's any consolation. But don't worry, Choco won't abandon his friends. When you move back to the entrance, Choco rejoins you for more adventures!
Stellazzio coins Queen Stella loves Stellazzio coins and asks you to find all tweLvle of them for her, in return she will reward you with various things. The tweLvle coins are located as follows
Once you have given queen Stella all of the tweLvle coins she will tell you there is a 13th coin, this is located where the Scorpio coin was. When you have given her this coin she will give you a hammer in return, now you must make a decision, the hammer can be used for a weapon that Hades can make or If you keep hold of it you will see an extra FMV when you complete the game, the choice is yours. Morrids coffee After leaving the Ice Cavern, head to the Observatory Mountain before going into Dali. There's an elderly fellow named Morrid inside the hut, who's just dying for a good cup of java. Find the three coffees at different locations in the world and return to Observatory Mountain with them, before the end of Disc 3, and Mr. Morrid will reward you.
To get the Burman Coffee, Zidane must leave Treno during the card tournament and head through South Gate to Dali. The mayor is not at home at this time, so search his house for his key. When you enter his house, Zidane spots the mayor's son napping on the sofa in the middle of the room. If Zidane moves too hastily, he'll awaken the boy and have to start the search over again. Start by searching the mayor's desk. You will find the Mini-Brahne here. Search the desk two more times until the boy says "Zzzz." Move to the stove and search it to find the Mayor's Key and then leave. Go to the locked door in the windmill and use the key to open it. Move around the chocobo pen to the right side, where a hidden treasure chest contains 30,000 Gil. Check the same chest again to find the Burman Coffee. Now return to Observatory Mountain and give the three coffees to Morrid. He promises to send you the Mini-Prima Vista model ship. The next time you're in Lindblum, return to the Tantalus hideout to find it sitting on the floor near the bed. Again, you must get the Burman Coffee during the card tournament in Treno. Otherwise, it will be too late. You can visit Morrid to complete the side quest any time before visiting Terra
Treno auction house When you are in the auction house you can buy key items and sell them on to noblemen in treno. Read below to make sure you don�t pay too much for the items.
When you have sold all of these items go to daguerreo and talk to the old man in the library, he will tell you to look out for an item called magical fingertip, return to treno auction house where the magical finger tip should now be for sale, (if not keep buying all the special items until it turns up). When it becomes available be prepared for a bidding war to break out, the noble men want this item as well and they wont give it up without a fight, the bidding can go as high as 100,000 Gil. When you have the magical fingertip take it back to the old man in daguerreo and he will give you the Excalibur weapon for Steiner.
Friendly creatures At various points on the world map you will encounter some creatures that don�t attack you, but will ask you for a jewel. When you give each of them what they ask for you will be rewarded.
The Ragtime Mouse The ragtime mouse is a creature that doesn�t attack you either, instead he asks you questions about the world and you have to answer them true or false. He appears randomly throughout the forest areas of the world, the questions and answers are below, you only get one shot at each so don�t mess up.
