Blimey Charlie?!! It's 2003 and I really can't believe it. Time flies when you're having fun (and so does Derek for that matter!) but still it only seems like yesterday that the bacon crew boarded the wan with Audrey in NYC, and still I can remember every day so vividly. Hope these Bytes' reach you all in good health, happiness and sufficient craziness. From recent emails I think I can safely say that Patrick Swayze would be proud of the groups activities; Shaz getting married, Nina living in Birmingham, Choi having moved to Bristol. It's all go, go, go; I think I could write a song! On second thoughts, I'll leave that to Neil, more his cup of tea I feel. Although Neil may I remind you that Jenny and myself are available for backing vocals at any given time, and I am surprised that we haven't had our call-up yet. In the meantime though, I think I'll stick to what I do best; falling over, being late, loosing phones (well, if they will make them so damn small!), putting up tents oh, and of course hiking!
But I digress (but let's face it, would it be Becks' bytes without the odd diversion!!) Well, it is New Years Day and I am actually quite with it. It must be a first I am sure. In fact, I think last night was the soberest New Year that I have had in quite some time. I had to work you see; had my waitressing skills down to a tee for the occasion and as for my vegetable chopping, as always, top notch!! Still, it was most exciting as the theme at the restaurant was The Moulin Rouge (which of course brought back memories of the first time that I saw it, in the US of A no less with the lovely Audrey) and I got to wear a pink can-can outfit, which was truly magnificent. When I say pink, we're talking Kumiko stylee, wahoo! Lots of singing and dancing as well, truly excellent I say!! And with the New Year comes all those resolutions that we have to make. Well, I know only too well what my fellow Baconites are like, so thought I would help you along the way and point you all in the right direction for 2003...
Keeping it on the continent, Patricia, how are you my lovely? Forget men, sharing a tent with three lovely girls is blatantly the key to true Happiness. Remember though to keep your conversations to a minimum, as you don't want to disturb your neighbours! Moreover, Mr Topgun, have you ever considered opening a clothes shop specialising in Michigan State attire?!! I think it would go down a treat. Also, may I suggest re-watching the film Dirty Dancing because it is just so good and I fear that you are missing out on its magic! In the meantime though, just concentrate on surviving university! Speaking of university, Wheelie Woo, (of the Jenny variety that is - Nina you can wait your turn!) What can I say? May I remind you that you are there to work, not play. I do not want to hear any more of this going out business, alcohol consumption or general cheesy music appreciation. What is this word they call Fun?!!
Oh, oh, oh...David and Lisa, the original Australians! I hope you are both well. I really think that S Club could bring so much in to your lives. They really have so much hidden depth to their music, if only you look for it! Oh, and just do not mention cricket! Shaz, what can I say, you have out shone us all with the news of marriage to an S Club fan, (perhaps you could emphasis this to Lisa and David!) you are beyond my help now. But I would like you to know how very proud I am! Now Edmundo, driving I think is a major issue. But hey, you're a love-ma-juggin? (not really sure what that is actually, but I just made up the word to express my affection!) so who cares! I don't what to hear any news of a slackening on the cheesy music front from you young man; you are an original party boy. Just remember that cheese and bacon is an excellent combination and do you agree that Blue are just divine? Kumiko, more trips to England I feel? Make sure you keep it PINK. xxx Oh and Choi and Neil...just hurry up and get married!! Audrey and Mark, hope you are both good and that America continues to treat you well. Please stay in touch, and come to England for Choi and Neil's wedding?!! Everyone, keep the bacon spirit real and alive! May 2003 be joyous for you all. Always look on the bright side of life and Keep reaching for those stars (I told you S club had hidden depth!)... Loads and loads of love and 03 kisses,
That was Rebecca Lowson, reporting for Becks Bytes
