What Happens Within The ATC?

Within the ATC, there are several levels of classification (see 'syllabus'). This training continues throughout a cadet's career, as there is always something new to learn.

Apart from what is covered in the other sections, there are many things that young people learn in the ATC. For example, they learn drill, team work, confidence and leadership - all of which are valuable later in life.

These are learnt via a variety of methods, ranging from lectures to courses, and from watching senior cadets to actively participating in initiative exercises.

The ATC is much more than a recruitment forum for the RAF, it is a place for young people to bond, and learn valuable traits, as well as discipline and leadership.  There aren't always many opportunities in life, but the Air Cadet Organisation provides many for young people aged 13-18.
