This section contains information on the rank structure at a basic squadron level.

 

 

Adult Staff and Cadet NCOs

Adult Staff

The OC (Officer Commanding) of the squadron is usually a Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt)

Usually there will be and adjutant and a training officer, who will be either a Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt), a Flying Officer (Fg Off) or a Pilot Officer (Plt Off)

In charge of discipline, will be an adult Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), these are normally either an Adult Warrant Officer (AWO) or an Adult Sergeant (Adult Sgt)

Other volunteer staff include Civilian Instructors (CI) of help out with teaching, transport etc.

For cadets there are the following ranks:

The junior NCOs are Corporals (Cpl)

Next up from corporal is a Sergeant (Sgt), from Sergeant upwards they are Senior NCOs

After Sergeant, comes Fight Sergeant (FS)

The most senior rank a cadet can be is a Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO)
