Tennesse Adventure & Myrtle Beach Bike Rally

Day 5 May 9/07

First thing we did this morning was go to the Harley dealership in Dalton, Georgia. Probably a mistake, as we spent a small fortune in there! LOL

Gary got himself a very cool Harley/Ford jacket, and I got myself an AWESOME ruby HD belt. We also both picked up some t-shirts, and I got a couple of leather pony tail holders.

Next, we headed to Chattanooga to go to the Aquarium. We stopped for lunch before going into the Aquarium at this small corner burger joint. Burgers and shakes were their specialty. It was a very fun atmosphere, and the food was good too. :o)

Then we carried on to the Aquarium. What a cool place! They had the most enourmous tank that housed a number of HUGE sharks, a massive sea turtle, a massive green moray eel, and an assortment of other fishes. So you can imagine how big this tank was!

There was also a shark/stingray petting area, where you could obviously (duh) pet some smaller sharks and stingrays. In this area, they also showcased some fertile shark eggs at different stages with a light set up behind them so you could sort of see the baby shark in different development stages. That was kinda neat.

There were a number of freshwater displays (turtles, FW stingrays, fish, etc.), as well as a Hyacinthe Macaw display. There were 2 macaws there. Hyacinthes are such magnificent and majestic birds! They were gorgeous!

Then there were their individual saltwater tank displays that were species specific. They had a bunch of different types of seahorse tanks, sea dragons, jellyfish, other types of fish, etc. They even had deep ocean species tanks, with jellyfish that flashed different colours (like a fibre optic display LOL). Very cool.

Oh yes, and the penguin display. Penguins are such funny creatures. They were swimming, playing follow the leader, and just generally being silly. At one point, there were 5 or 6 penguins, all lined up in a row, and all of them, at the same time, looked up. What they were staring at up there, I don't know. Everybody was trying to see what they were looking at, but there was nothing there. Maybe that's where the food gets thrown in or something, and they heard a noise up there? It was very funny looking, that's all I know. :o)

After that, we headed back to our camp and did some shopping, and made grilled cheese sandwiches in the fire.
