SMASH HIT!! (...and we're not talkin' music!)
Shane Minor covered himself and some spectators in ostrich egg yolk at a celebrity softball game with radio station KNCI!!
The staff of the radio station heard an old LAPD story of Shanes: During the LA riots, a bunch of angry people were throwing bottles at Shane...unable to fight back, he ran to a local convenient store and bought a few dozen eggs. He ran back to the site and passed out the eggs to his other uniformed friends. They threw the eggs at the rioters, who in turn threw down their bottles and got eggs of their own. It turned into one huge explosion of eggs.
Knowing this story, the radio station staff snuck a four-pound ostrich egg to the pitcher's mound when Shane was up to bat. From a distance, the egg appeared to be a softball, so Shane thought nothing of it, until the perfect pitch came his way and he slammed the ball, er, egg, splattering it all over the place! Sounds like a egg-cellent time!! (From an industry trade mag)
