At each Festival many gentles try to completely leave mundane life behind. Period Camp-sites attempt to recreate all aspects of medieval life as accurately as possible. No gas stoves, no battery torches, no discussion of current events or pass-times. All cooking is done over an open fire, using medieval recipes and cooking methods. Each night they gather in the Baronial Pavilion to feast by candle-light, drink meads and ales crafted by our brewers, and be regaled with tales, songs ,and the occasional pun, into the night. The camp at dawn (when Gwynfors and Gwirs, and the occasional Stormhold Excellency were stirring, but few others!), with the newly started fires dancing under the tripods in the still, fresh air, it was a  beautiful sight.
