Plot -
X-Force was relaxing, playing a nice game of frisbee, when they are approached by two
Eternals, a race of god-like humans, named Astarte and Electryon. They tell Moonstar that
they need her help to get rid of an un-earthly energy eminating from an island. They show
her that they have an understanding of her powers, and X-Force decides to go with them.
They arrive on the island, which is filled with living planets and gigantic insects.
Making their way towards a mysterious temple at the center of the island, X-Force finds
themselves caught in a trap. Hit by transmutation energy, the group is transformed into
elemtal form, all save Moonstar. The Eternals appear, betraying X-Force, forcing Moonstar
to pour her quantum energy into the strange sphere that transformed her teammates.
Meanwhile, back in San Fransico, Domino and Sunspot say their good-byes, because Sunspot
is being forced out of the country by immigration. Domino thinks something's fishy is
going on, but has no time to figure things out before a mysterious package arrives for
Cannonball from the war-ridden island of Genosha. Back in the temple, Moonstar is thrown
from the platform with the Eternals, only to find the temple's master is the basement
below. The creature, an alien called Ry'lor, attacks Moonstar, believing her to be an
intruder. Ry'lor reaches into Moonstar's mind, only to learn of her evasive past. Now
trusting her, Ry'lor turns the tables on Moonstar, showing her his past, and how he came
to this island millenia ago, to find cavemen. He changed the cavemen, giving them power,
but they turned on him, and then, in the end, he destroyed them. The temple is truly his
burned-out ship that crashed-landed her. Moonstar convinces Ry'lor to help against the
Eternals and free her teammates. Ry'lor, believing in Moonstar, pushes her to focus her
power on the sphere, to reverse the process. The team escapes and races back to attack
Astarte and Electryon before they can leave. They learn the Eternals were working for the
Damocles Foundation, who has been following the group ever since X-Force's encounter with
Arcadia. X-Force takes down the Eternals, just as Ry'lor ends his self-imposed
imprisonment on the island. Ry'lor takes the group home. |
