The Enemy of the State movie belongs to those a bit depressive movies, which tell you what is the present time actually like. After seeing it, you get the strange feeling of being watched. You might decide to stop looking up or even start to control what things you tell others through the phone.
After all, there can always be a satellite somewhere far above your head. What if your friends are spies? What if you are only a toy in evil claws of evil intelligence agencies?!
But it is not all that easy in this movie. The main character, the enemy of the State himself is caught up in the intelligence hurricane by a coincidence, meeting his former schoolmate in a shop. (Maybe I've already been pulled into such a thing too! I've already met my schoolmates in various kinds of shops for a number of times...)
After all, everyone in this movie is caught up by coincidence, except THEM (let's just call THEM this way, I don't want to have black sedans behind my back everytime I look over my shoulder). If there wasn't for that meddling bird-watcher who had a murder on a tape, it wouldn't ever happen.
THEY happened to be the murderers.
THEY decided to get the tape.
POSITIVELY at all costs.
THEY won't stop.
The Enemy of the State is one of the most thrilling thrillers I have ever seen. There's death lurking behind every corner. If THEY don't have you in their sights, you can be sure they won't hesitate about finding you again, no matter who is going to die because of their actions, no matter what is the price, no matter where you hide. THEY are everywhere but when you look for them, they are nowhere to be found. THEY are the exact contrary to you. No matter ho good you hide, THEY have ways of finding you.
Go and see this movie. You'll learn that "there's no privacy except the one inside your head".
