EXT. DEEP SPACE

We OPEN on TOTAL BLACKNESS, a sea of stars spread across the infinite depths of space. As the TITLES ROLL, we notice that three of these specks seem to be moving; one of them picking up acceleration and racing toward us. Our perspective changes, and we catch a quick glimpse as it HURTLES past, and into the gravitational pull of a large brownish planet. Kicking up SPARKS of FRICTION as it hits atmosphere. It seems to be manmade. Or at least artificial.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE - DAY

The planet is dead, barren. Death Valley on a grand scale. We watch the object plummet through the wispy cloud-cover, emitting a few last burning embers before falling to ground way-off in the distance. A BOOMING ECHO resonates across the dusty plains, before settling back into an eerie silence.

EXT. FISSURE CANYON - DAY

We're looking into a deep gorge, dark and sinister. A howling wind whips dust into a sandstorm, reducing visibility to almost zero. About seventy feet down there's a hole in the rock-face that just might be a cave entrance, and near is a peculiar SHIMMERING in the air. We hear a mechanical BEEPING and the SHIMMERING disappears, replaced by FIVE humanoid SHAPES clinging to the sheer rock - each well over seven feet tall. They are PREDATORS, a race of intergalactic big-game hunters on permanent safari; their clothing and weaponry a bizarre mix of aborigine and ultra-hi-tech. In their hands are circular metal discs; 'smart weapons' which cut into the stone and give them purchase.
PREDATOR-VISION. From their P.O.V., we see the fissure reduced to THERMAL HEAT SOURCES. The entrance registers as a black gaping void.

PREDATOR
(murmurs angrily)
There's just void where a memory of this movie should have been!

Don't tell me you didn't know that this movie actually went out. You must have missed it or something.

No, Im just kidding. This movie never came out and it seems, though it is quite good, that it will never ever come out. But maybe you should get the script. After all, I bet you didn't know that Predators were actually hunters on permanent safari, did you? After all, Arnold Schwarzenegger (or is it Schwarznegger?) didn't actually have any intellectual dispute about what a Predator really is in that last movie a Predator appeared in for the first and the last time.

It is strange because there is so much great things in this script. And it would also make many things, which were left unfolded throughout the action movie history, clear for those who are not exactly Predator or Alien fan freaks.

Here is a resume of what actually means to say "this is an Alien" or "this is a Predator":

PREDATORS

Now we all know why did the Predator actually did the awful bloody job in the movie named after him.

The Predators are hunters. And everyone of you guys knows what hunters do. They hunt. And because this is a sci-fi story about times when everyone has enough food, these hunters don't hunt for food. They hunt for fun. They hunt because they are blood-thirsty, sadistic, deviant, egoistic, violent, monstrous, terrible beasts with no mercy and a limitlessly brutal character.

But thats exactly what we love about these guys, isn't it?

ALIENS

And what about that biomechanical race - the Aliens? They have a similar character, though they seem to be more primitive, with their community centered around the Alien queen, the great hissing Mom of all these funny pets.

They don't have much discipline of a soldier, they are more animals than intelligent beings. They dont bear weapons, at least no external ones. Actually, they are weapons themselves, with a lot of claws, teeth, fangs and limbs to shred, devour and devastate.

THE SCRIPT BY PETER BRIGGS

If you are attracted by this bombastic introduction of a movie that never came out, you can download the script which is available below. Or you can just see the pictures I gathered from the sites of Alien and Predator fans. Or you can just buy the graphic novel about this conflict, which, I believe, came out.
