  TOS period B   Kirk's original 5-year mission plus (up to his promotion to Admiral).

  TOS period C   The years Kirk is based on Earth during the Enterprise refit.  
  TOS period D   Kirk commands the Enterprise as an admiral. (the first four movies)  
  TOS period E   Events between movies "The Voyage Home" and "The Final Frontier".  
  TOS period F   Star Trek V through Kirk's "death" on the Enterprise-B and its aftermath.

          Mind-Sifter With Kirk missing and presumed dead for a year, Spock, now commanding the Enterprise, tells a bitter McCoy he knows the captain is still alive and  has finally traced him to a 1950's mental hospital.

          Marginal Existence The crew finds a city whose inhabitants are held in agonizing suspension.
          The Procustean Petard The crew is subjected to an alien machine which alters their chromosomes, changing male to female and vice versa.
          The Sleeping God A genius kept in suspended animation is the galaxy's only hope of surviving an invasion by a machine civilization.
