| Music is a very important part of your movie. It adds the feelings and emotions that nobody really cares about-the part that just shoots through their brains and makes them like the movie a certain way. Music can add the aspects of comedy, action, drama, romance, and everything else. It makes your movie the most enjoyable it can be. When to add music- You have to know when to add music. If your movie is only a few minutes long, you can play the music non-stop the whole time. Since our movies are usually around 15 minutes to an hour or two, we have music depending on the type of scene. If it's creepy, we play something creepy. If it's stupid, we play something stupid, etc. You don't always need music, however. You should make sure your music isn't louder than voices during conversations too. During a long conversation, you should have either no music or quiet background music. How to add music- If you have a digital movie camera and editing, music should be a piece of cake. If not, you'll have to try our old methods. (we recently upgraded to a digital camera) Our old ways were using plain old CD players-small boomboxes or ones with headphones for outdoors. The Boomboxes were set near the camera when indoors, and outside, we creatively stuck the headphones over the camera's microphone. Yeh, we're cheap, but we get the job done. So anyway, music is very important to your movie. I hope you've found this information useful. |
