We'd like to introduce you to some of the people you are bound to meet at a branch activity,
either because they help organize or simply because they can be counted on to come out for almost
anything.   These folks are proud to be the ones you try to pick out when you're looking
for "the Queen's
group," but always appreciate company.
Yes, there are a lot of engineers.   Only you can help dilute their influence!
Peter Stokes, Sc '94 (MEng Cornell)   Peter got in on the ground floor by authoring
this web site, and is now the voice of the Boston Branch.
After wanting to but chickening out in
1995, Peter moved to New England in 1998 and settled in Boston's North End a year later.
He
works as a mechanical engineer with an product development consultancy in downtown Boston.
An avid cyclist, Peter is also a dedicated student of city life.

John Hazell, Sc '93, (MSc, PhD McMaster)
John came all the way here
several years ago to work for Nortel (go figure) with a unit that specializes in tunable lasers. It's
a good trick, trust us, but not good enough for Nortel to keep it going after the dot-com bust.
John moved on to new work without leaving the area, though, because when the whistle
blows, no matter what the season, he is known to head into the White Mountains in
search of some of New England's fine climbing and hiking opportunities.   John grew up on
the outskirts of Toronto and now lives in Somerville, Mass.

Jim Lee Seah, BSc '92 (BSc McGill)   Jim is such a welcome
fixture at alumni events that sometimes
we forget he's not an engineer.   He's a big hockey fan, which dovetails
nicely with his career
as a physical therapist.   Jim lives in Methuen, Mass.
