The Royal Tours |
Over the past 30 years the country's development process has been symbolised by a uniquely Omani form of dialogue and consultation which has been conducted through a series of open meetings between the Ruler and his people in towns and villages across the country. On his annual Royal tours His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said travels thousands of kilometers around the country so that he can spend time with his people in the areas where they live and learn of their concerns and daily lives at the first hand. Citizens feel they can speak freely and directly to His Majesty about everything on these occasions. His Majesty the Sultan is accompanied on his tours by a large group of ministers and advisers , to ensure that the broadest possible level of interaction can take place between the citizens and the government and enable senior officials to see the citizen's needs on the spot.
