I Sing the Blues began as an ode to melancholy but became a beautiful soothing design. This basic class will teach the student how to transfer a set design onto canvas. While learning proper laying techniques the student will gain an understanding of how properly laid cotton floss refracts light creating the illusion of different hues. The student will have a choice of three color schemes to use in completing this design.

Student must come with a laying tool, finger trolley, tekobari, stiletto, or a large darning needle.

Biography
Ginny Smith is certified through The Embroiderers' Guild of America in canvas work. She studied canvas embroidery techniques with Brenda Hart in Tucson, Arizona, where she began her teaching career. Thread and color manipulation plays a large part in her designs. She has taught classes in several chapters in both Florida and Michigan.
