Changing the Visibility of Layers


Changes the visibility of selected layers.

Menu Choices

Visible

Makes all selected layers visible.

To use this tool:

Select the layers you want to make visible by holding the Shift key and using the left mouse button to click the layer buttons.

Select Layers > Visibility > Visible.
The objects assigned to the selected layer(s) are now visible.

Invisible

Makes all selected layers invisible.

To use this tool:

Select the layers you want to make visible by holding the Shift key and use the left mouse button to click the layer buttons.

Select Layers > Visibility > Invisible.
The objects assigned to the layer(s) are now invisible.

Notes:

  • A node can be made invisible directly by using ObjectDisplay > Invisible, or by making its layer invisible. In either case, you cannot see the node. In the SBD and ASBD window, the invisible layer of the node is shown as a dotted hollow rectangle, instead of the default filled rectangle. You cannot pick an invisible layer in the SBD. See the diagram in Viewing Layers in the SBD and ASBD Windows on page 239 for more information.
  • The objects on the invisible layers cannot be made visible using ObjectDisplay > Visible.
  • The update of construction history and animation is cancelled on invisible layers.
