Deleting Layers


Lets you delete a selected layer or unused layers.

Workflow Note

When a layer is deleted, the objects in that layer are not deleted. Instead, these objects are transferred to the Default Layer . To delete these objects, along with the layers:

Select the layers to be deleted.

Pick the objects using Layers > Select > Objects on selected layers.

Delete active objects using Delete > Del active.

Delete the layers using Layers > Delete > Selected.

Selected

All selected layers are deleted and objects within the layer(s) are transferred to the Default Layer. To use this option:

Select the layer(s) you want to delete by holding the Shift key and clicking with the left mouse button on the layer buttons in the Layers Bar.

Select Layers > Delete > Selected.
All the objects previously referenced by the layer no longer have a layer assignment.

Unused

All empty layers (those that do not contain any objects) are deleted. This function is useful for removing redundant layers.

To use this option, select Layers > Delete > Unused. The unused layers are deleted.
