Oda Nobunaga according to a newspaper illustration in Australia (actually the subject was wholesomely unrelated to him: Iraq!). To Anne 'Yakusho' who sent this from NSW, thank you so much.
Luo Shigang from Beijing sent me this Oda Nobunaga picture he found in a history book. Thanks a lot.....
A rare treat from Dan, who sent this from Seattle. It's Oda Nobunaga and his favorite falcon. He's rarely depicted going hunting, and rarer still hunting with this bird on his arm. I always wonder why, because he went out with the bird as often as he went to war. Thank you, Dan. |
This one is a depiction of Oda Nobunaga at his battle of Okehazama, 1560 -- he was, according to the 1990 history leaflet illustrator, donning a typical Japanese yoroi (compare with Anne's Australian pic at your left).
Oda Nobunaga at his best: archery on horseback (the sport is still alive today -- click here). This picture was also sent by Dan.
