By day, Minako is a famous pop star. Her current single is called "C'est La Vie - Watashi no Naka no Koisuru Bubun" (nice play on words at the beginning there), and her album is called "Venus". Her fans include Usagi, Naru and Ami.

By night, she is Sailor V, a mysterious heroine in a sailor suit who fights against criminals, including the jewel thief Tuxedo Mask.

Even if virtually every Sailor Moon fan in existence didn't already know that Minako, Sailor V and Sailor Venus are all the same person, the opening credits (and the fact that Minako's album is called "Venus") make it perfectly clear. Later on in the series, Minako will become Sailor Venus.

When Minako becomes Sailor V, and later Sailor Venus, her hair becomes blonde and a red ribbon appears in her hair.
