Example Early Childhood Today
Teaching Diversity: A Place to Begin
by By Dora Pulido-Tobiassen and Janet Gonzalez-Mena
presented by teacher.scholastic.com
I personally liked this article because it comes from a posture of helping young kids learn about identity and acceptance at an early age and how to benefit from an increasingly diversified society.

Here is some food for thought.
Listen up kids, parents and educators:

Diversity is not the root problem here:
bye Calvin Lum
"When a civilization declines, as did China after the contraction phase of the Ming dynasty, or Rome or post-World War I Germany, the cultural impact of ethnic minorities had nothing to do with the decline. They were simply easy targets of
angry, frustrated demagogues and the uneducated masses. The root causes always have been corruption, bad public policy, fear, greed, arrogance and complacency, and lack of vision.
There are lessons to be learned from the past, and if we wish to deal with the root causes of our nation's ills, then let's get on with it. But diversity was not the problem in the past and isn't the problem today, here or anywhere else."

Talking to our children about racism and diversity
Brought to you by civilrights.org
"This booklet is intended to help parents and
children talk together about diversity, as well as racism and other kinds
of bigotry. It offers some guideshow_example for discussion about these
difficult issues. It includes some concrete examples of children's
questions and concerns and, as a starting point, some suggestions for
answering them.
It is especially for parents whose children are between five and eight
years old, but it should be helpful for anyone concerned about helping
children become open-minded adults."
