Eva Sannum

Eva Sannum: Can a Bra Model become the Future Queen of Spain

Eva was a mild and sociable girl in her childhood. She lived in Kurland in Lørenskog east of Oslo, the capital of Norway. She was an intelligent girl and she entered school early. The name of her primary school is Haugenstua. At the age of ten she moved to Stovner in Oslo. Here she lived with with her father Bjørn, her sister Linda, Grete Gerhardsen, her father's live-in girl-friend, and her daughter Hilde. Every summer Eva and her sisters were on holidays to Jeløya in Østfold.

When she was studying at Stovner gymnas (=US: junior college), she was trained as a model by Eivor Øverbø and other in Team modellbyrå (= model agency). At the age of 19 she had her first commission as a model abroad. She and her friend Tone Christensen went to Hamburg, Milano and London. She had her greatest success as a model in Hamburg where she had many commissions related to catalogues. Such comissions are not very attractive, but she had a good income. She was also liked by the Italians.

Probably, Eva was not aware of the discussion in Spain on who should be the successor to the Throne. In 1996 it was decided that Felipe and his future wife should be the successor to the Spanish Throne after King Juan Carlos, and they should have the right to move into the royal castle Zarzuela.

As a model Eva met first Felipe at a nachspiel in an apartement in Majorstua in Oslo. Cathrine Knudsen, the then sweetheart of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, had a party for her friends. Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, Crown Prince Felipe and his friend Prince Nikolaos of Greece were also present. Eva was not present at the party, but in the autumn she and Cathrine Knudsen moved to Spain to work as a fashion models. Presumably, in Spain she met the Spanish Crown Prince because of Cathrine Knudsen and Crown Prince Haakon.

When she was working as a model, Eva studied languages at the University of Oslo. Eva speaks six languages. She speaks English, German and Spanish very well. In addition she can speak som Greek because her mother lives in Greece. Eva and her sister Linda visited their mother every summer. Because of her commissions as a fashion model, Eva can speak some French and Italian.

The Spanish Crown Prince has visited Norway many times. In the autumn of 2000 Eva and Felipe met in Oslo. They met in a private party in Majorstua in Oslo. After the party they were at a nachspiel in the apartement of Haakon and Mette-Marit in Ullevålsveien in Oslo. Mette-Marit, who is a common Norwegian female, is the fiancee of Haakon, and she is the single parent of Marius. Eva's family has also met the Spanish Crown Prince, and her family was impressed by him. In 2000 Eva and Felipe were on a holiday on the Maldives in the Indian Ocean.

The same year Eva started studying at Westerdals reklameskole (= a private school of advertising) in Oslo, and she moved to her sister Linda in Grünerløkka in Oslo. At the same time the news agencies began contacting her, and Eva was able to handle the situation.

In the autumn of 2000 Eva and a girl-friend moved to St.Hanshaugen in Oslo not far form the apartement of Haakon and Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby. The same autumn Felipe visited Eva and her family. Eva's friends are very loyal to her.

When Hola! made known the relationship between Eva and Felipe, Eva went to the Pacific Ocean. Felipe who had been on an official visit i Mexico, met Eva in the Pacific Ocean. Here Eva and Felipe relaxed, and the magazines informed about the romance. The next week Eva experienced a hard aggressiveness from journalists and photographers. After the Spanish weekly magazine Hola! made public photos of Eva and Felipe on a holiday trip in India, foreign journalists and photographers waited for a glimpse of the lady who can become the next queen of Spain. But last Christmas she could celebrate in peace and silence, because the media did not know where to find her. Eva found the aggresiveness from journalists and photographers unpleasant.

25th August 2001 the Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby was married in Oslo, and Felipe and his mother Queen Sophia of Spain was among the many royal guests. Felipe met again Eva at the royal wedding festivities. Probably, Queen Sophia had also the opportunity to meet Eva Sannum.

The Spanish news-papers described the Norwegian royal wedding festivities as the wedding of the year, but they focused mainly on Eva and Felipe. The 26th August 2001 the photo of Eva and Felipe was made public in the news-paper El Mundo, and it dominated El Mundo's presentation of the Norwegian royal wedding. The news-papers El Pais, ABC and La Vanguardia concentrated also its presentation of the wedding on Eva and Felipe. La Vanguardia told that it will be easier for Eva Sannum to become the next queen of Spain, because Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby had become the Crown Princess of Norway.

In the middle of December in 2001 Crown Prince Felipe confirmed to journalists in the royal castle Zarzuela that his relationship with Eva Sannum was come to an end.

There had been too many Spanish objections to Eva Sannum: her career as a fashion model, her family background and her gown at the wedding of Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby.

Eva Sannum as a former lingerie model cannot be accepted in Spain. The allegeted braless photos are also reasons why Eva Sannum cannot be accepted as future Queen of Spain.

The parents of Eva Sannum are divorced. Her mother is remarried.

Eva was beautiful, but too sexy dressed at the royal wedding in Oslo in August 2001. This was not considered suitable in a royal wedding.

According to the Spanish Constitution of 1978 Crown Prince Felipe can marry a non-royal female. His sisters are married with non-royal Spaniards, but Felipe is the Successor to the Spanish Throne. Legally, there are no objections to a marriage between Eva and Felipe. Great parts of the Spanish population meant that Felipe could marry Eva.
