Congratulations on your engagement! Planning your wedding can be a daunting task. You will most likely make hundreds of phone calls, visit numerous vendors, arrange many meetings, and become an accountant, diplomat and interior decorator all at the same time. Sound like a full time job to me. However, to make the task a little easier we have put together a complete checklist detailing everything you will need to do for your wedding and the approximate timeline for getting those things done.
The checklist provides numerous links to related pages within our site for additional information, plus links to various vendors who supply the products and services you will need for your wedding.
Our wedding checklist assumes a 12 month planning phase. Naturally you may choose a shorter or longer planning period, so please adjust our guide accordingly.
Refer to our Wedding Budget Checklist for an itemised list and costing of all supplies and services you may require for your wedding.

| Decide on outfits and order. Have first fitting of wedding dress. | |

| Select and discuss your colour schemes and decorations for ceremony and reception. | |

| Finalise gift list. | |
| Book honeymoon. (Renew passport if required) | |
| Review details with all of your vendors and service providers. |
| Send invitations | |
| Obtain documentation from marriage celebrant, fill it out and return. | |

| Order floral arrangements and flowers for the bridal party. | |

| Honeymoon - Collect tickets, organise foreign currency necessities. |
| Make sure your marriage license is in order | |
| Write out timetable for wedding day | |
| Full wedding rehearsal with main participants. | |
| Inform your wedding party on what they will be doing on the day of the wedding and the timetable for the day. | |
| Pack for honeymoon. | |
| Pack for the Wedding Night | |
| Account for any last minute changes to seating plan. | |
| Confirm cake delivery. | |
| Confirm out-of-town guests have transportation and accommodation. |
| Have bridal flowers delivered to relevant addresses. | |
| Hair, makeup and nails for the bride and bridesmaids. Determine how much time they require and organise your preparation accordingly. | |
| Allow at least two hours for dressing | |
| If photographs are to be taken at the brides home, allow plenty of time for that. | |
| Remember to bring the rings. | |
| Cars arrive. | |
| Relax and enjoy the day. |
