Personal Space
I am a die-hard value investor and hence am quite conservative in my investments in equities. My style of investing can best be understood by reading books such as Intelligent Investor, Security Analysis (both by Benjamin Graham), Buffettology etc.
I quite firmly believe that abstaining from trading regulary is the best form of trading, many a fortune is spent in brokerage fees, wiping out whatever capital and appreciation the investor had accumulated. Taxes are another problem, the longer you can avoid paying them (by not selling!), the better compounding you can achieve and we all know the advantages of compounding.
I am currently developing a few rules for investing, which I will put up in time, however for now, I am putting up some Wit and Wisdom from Buffett and a couple of links to Notes taken from the Wesco shareholder meetingtaken by Whitney Tilson and another column of his on Charlie Munger.
Do not dismiss the wisdom of Buffett and Munger, they are sterling investors who have proven themselves as one of the finest investors of our time.
I am also a keen follower of other good authors, whose material and articles I will put up (when I manage to settle down in a town with my own PC!). Expect to see material on Peter Lynch, Reuben et all soon.
Cheers and happy 'investing',
Kumar
