Purchasing Resources

Boy oh boy are there resources for buying cigars and alcohol on the internet. Buying alcohol on the internet can be a bit pricey, so I still recommend going to your local liquor/package store, but if you are unfortunate enough to not have a local store, check some of this stuff out.

Myself, I get most of my alcohol from the NH Liquor stores. Yeah, our liquor stores are owned and operated by the tax-free state of New Hampshire, gotta pay for public education somehow, right? If that weren't crazy enough for you flat-landers, we also strategically place these liquor stores on highways! I'm telling you, there is nothing like a pit stop to the liquor store during a long drive to revitalize your spirits (pun intended). Live Free or Die.

As far as cigars go, there are a ridiculous amount of sites to purchase good sticks from. I'll stick to just my favorites for now though.

Cigar Bid

Affectionately know as the devil site, cigarbid.com is easily my main source for buying quality, hand-rolled premium cigars. It's the eBay for cigar enthusiasts. My first purchase off the devil site was a five pack of Graycliff 30 year Vintage Pirates that generally sells anywhere from $50-$100. I picked it up for just shy of $20. Tossed them in the ol' humidor for a few months to relax, and BAM! they're smoking like a dream

Be careful with this site though, I am sorry if I am the first person to direct you there, you WILL spend a lot more money then you want to. Period.

Cigars International (CI)

Cigars International is actually the parent company of Cigar Bid, not that I am playing favorites. This site offers some pretty hefty discounts on cigars compared to most other sites or brick and mortar stores you will come across. They also have quite a few unique samplers if you are feeling like trying some different cigars before committing to a expensive box.

My personal favorite is their "Build Your Own Sampler." They give you an option to select four different five packs, one from four different categories for a total of 20 cigars, for $60. That's only $2 a cigar. My first build retailed around $250, and I only paid $60. I don't know how they can afford it, but I appreciate the savings.

Famous Smoke Shop

My final personal favorite shop is Famous Smoke Shop. These guys offer similar discounts and unique samplers as CI with pretty darn good shipping and customer service to boot. I may not check their prices for every purchase I make, but it is definitely one of my go to retailers.

Another unique thing that Famous has going for them is The Cigar Monster. The Monster is Famous' mega discount site that offers huge savings, with one new deal every hour. If you don't catch it during that hour, you can catch it again between 11-12 am/pm that same day when they offer the last 11 discounts again. These offers are usually pretty darn good, and fall into two categories, smokes and accessories. At the very least its pretty amusing to listen to the evil laugh the page makes when you load it, scared the crap out of me the first time.

The Monster also has a section where you name your own price for a product and it is reviewed, probably by a program with minimums set, and either accepted or denied. I haven't tried this feature, but from what I hear the minimum is usually around 50% the MSRP. The name your price stock rotates every 12 hours I believe.
