I found the task interesting as I learned about different characteristics that employers within the IT industry valued and certain areas that you need to make yourself farmiliar with.

This is a screenshot of task P2 that I had to complete for Unit 2. The aim of the task was to explore different job roles that are available within the IT industry. I chose 2 different job roles for each of the 4 categories and got to learn more about them, and therefore found the task interesting as I learned about the different jobs. P2 is to be completed in the form of the leaflet so I chose to do it in Publisher to make the unit a bit more interesting.

What is the unit about?

The Working in the IT Industry Unit is all about learning and exploring different characteristics that are important and valued within different job roles in IT. You also get to learn about different legislation that is important when working in the IT Industry, for example the Data Protection Act 1998. Further on in the unit, you get to explore these characteristics further by applying them to specific job roles and finding out why they are valuable to them.

My review of the unit

I found the Working in the IT Industry unit good and fairly easy. It was interesting to learn about the different characteristics that are valued wthin the IT industry and I found it particularly interesting when I got to apply certain caharacteristics to specific job roles as some charactersitcs are more valued in one field than the other. I also liked the different formats that you were able to present the unit in, for example P2 was completed in Microsoft publisher and P3 in Microsoft Powerpoint.
