Linux: /etc
Windows
95/98/Me: c:\windows\
Windows
NT/2000/XP Pro: c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\
Windows
XP Home: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
(you may need administrator access
for Windows NT/2000/XP)
Mac:
System Folder --> Preferences
(usually
there is no "hosts" file located here, so just save
it to that folder)
Note:
After unzipping the file to the
correct directory, RESTART
your computer for
the changes to take place. Sometimes
you don't need to, but just do
it to be safe.
You
will know that you have installed
it correctly if you cannot see
the advertisement on the right,
or go to www.fastclick.net <--
you
should not be able to load this
web site. It will say
page unavailable or something.
