CHRISTMAS SOCIAL, Friday, December 4th
The Soaring Eagle Center's annual Christmas party will be fantastic this year. Food will have a Mexican theme. The world premiere of "Life is Life", a documentary about the Soaring Eagle Center will be shown. "B-man and the Soaring Eagles" band will make their debut as well. There will of course be dancing with DJs Barry and Robin. Mark Friday, December 4th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, on your calendar. Plan to join us for a special evening.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS BASKETBALL BEGINS Thursday, November 12
The Soaring Eagles will begin their basketball season with practice on Thursday, November 12th, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Faith Bible Church, 1437 W. Pleasant Run, DeSoto (just west of the intersection of Cockrell Hill and Pleasant Run). Practices will be held every Thursday night at Faith Bible from 6:30 – 8:00 pm except for Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. We will compete in two Saturday tournaments in January and February. Any athletes fourteen years and older are invited to participate with our teams. No experience is needed. You only need a desire to get some exercise and have fun. SUPER HOOPER, Saturday, November 7th
Ovilla Christian School's annual Super Hooper will be held on Saturday, November 7th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The school's athletes and coaches will hold a basketball skills clinic in the morning and a tournament in the afternoon. In between will be lunch for athletes and families, lots of fun, and new friends. There is no cost for the event and no basketball experience necessary. Directions from I35: Take I 35E to the Ovilla Road exit. Go west on Ovilla Road for about five miles. The school is located on the south side between Hampton Road and Main Street. Turn into the far west parking lot.
Directions from 67 (Cedar Hill): Take the FM 1382 exit and go east toward DeSoto. Turn right on Cockrell Hill. Take Cockrell to Ovilla Road. Turn left on Ovilla Road. The school is around the bend on the right. Turn into the first parking lot.
