Purpose
The Soaring Eagle Center Thrift Shop provides the majority of the funds needed for the Soaring Eagle Center programs. More importantly the thrift shop provides a place where young adults with intellectual disabilities can gain valuable job skills, continue to grow in learning, and become an integral part of their community.
Merchandise
The thrift shop sells anything and everything in good condition. We have clothes for all ages and sizes as well as shoes, purses, and baby items. We have lots of household items from small appliances to beautiful dish sets. We sell furniture for all the rooms of a house and have a variety of electronic items. Our goal is to sell clothes and items in good and working condition. We test all the items we can before selling them. Come by and see what we have. It changes from day to day.

All donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation. It is your responsibility to list the items you donated and their estimated value. We accept any item (large or small) and clothes in good condition. The items must not be broken or missing parts. Clothes need to be clean and not stained. We are unable to sell such items.
We are not able to accept the following items:
non-working electronics (TV's, VCR's, radios, CD players, etc.)
non-working appliances (large and small)
computers not running Windows XP
CRT computer monitors
furniture not in good condition (broken or worn)
mattresses
broken and incomplete toys
Our goal in the thrift shop is to only sell clothes and items which are in good condition and that we know work. Items which are broken, incomplete, and in poor condition we are not able to not sell. We recycle as many unsellable items as we can.
Pick Up Policy
We are able to do limited number of pick ups in DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Duncanville, and the surrounding area. We have the following guidelines for pick ups.
All items must be securely packed in bags and boxes and placed in a central location. If items are not packed, we will only take the items we know we can sell. It will be the donor's responsibility to dispose of what we do not take.
There must be at least one piece of large furniture in good, sellable condition for us to do a pick up. If you have only small items, we ask you to bring them to us. If we arrive for the pick up and there is no longer a large piece of furniture or the large piece is in poor condition, we reserve the right to not do the pick up.
In order to properly prepare for a pick up, we will ask for a brief description of what items need picking up. We are not able to do same day or next day pick ups.
