*We
plan to have a UN Medal ceremony for this rotation in October 00. The Irish
contingent are planning a UN Medal Parade on the 3rd of October 00 at
Taroman
Troop Rotation.
*Welcome
to the newcomers this month. The Egyptian Contingent, 2nd rotation
will arrive in Dili this month:
20 Personnel will
arrive Dili on 13 Sep 00 and other 20 personnel will arrive Dili on 16 Sep 00.
*The
last part of the Egypt Contingent will depart Dili on 12 Sep 00 back to Egypt.
We hope that they have a safe trip and thank them for the work they have done
here they have worked hard for the East Timor people. We would also like to
welcome new Commander of the Egyption Contingent, Col Shahan Abdel Salam.
Compassionate leave
Maj Fernando Baptisto of (Comms
Cell, PKF) is on compassionate leave in Portugal, his mother is ill. We hope
that she will recover soon.
Daily Allowance.
Approximately $350.000 US
will be distributed for the August daily and recreational allowances for PKF
members. 14 October is currently the planned collection date. I would like to
welcome LT(N) Tania Koberstein the replacement of LT Kaio. She will be the
personnel officer in charge of allowances coordination. She is working hard to
ensure that we receive our allowances on time.
