Upgrade Service

Getting Started My Part Almost Done

What are you upgrading?

I am offering a service to upgrade an ePods to an ePods32.  This will include all parts and labor for the memory upgrade and DOC disable hack.  Pictures of a completed upgrade can be seen in the How To section.  I will not do any software or shell upgrades due to the possible copyright violations.

How long will it take?

My goal is to upgrade the machine and ship it back to you within two business days of receiving the machine.  I've decided to do the upgrades on a "By Appointment" basis.  By limiting the number of upgrades that I am doing at any given time I will be able to ensure a quick turn around.  It doesn't do either of us any good to have your machine sitting on my bench when I don't have time to work on it.

Do you know what you are doing?

Yes.  I have performed many ePods to ePods32 upgrades.  All have been 100% successful.  The pictures shown on this site are typical of my quality of work.

Is the procedure risky?

There is a risk anytime you ship and/or service an electronic device.  IMHO, the biggest risk is in shipping.  Careful packing of the ePods will minimize this.  There is also a very small probability  that your machine is not upgradeable or that something unexpected will happen during the upgrade.  I have outlined the procedure that I will follow if there are problems (see the links on the left side of this page).  However, I really don't expect there to be any serious problems.

What does it cost?

The upgrade service costs $50.00 not including shipping.  You will be responsible for shipping both to and from me.

How do I get started?

The links on the left side of this page describe the process that I would like to follow.  Please read all three pages (at the end of the page click the next button).  If anything is not clear, please let me know.  Click here to start
