When  our first Whippet entered our lives in 1981 I just knew this was the beginning of a long association with a wonderful  breed.  Exhaustive study of all the available books, photos and breed standard, eventually decided my 'ideal' Whippet in Ch (Eng) Deepridge Mintmaster and I loved Ch (Eng) Ravensdowne Astri.  Their 'type' was what I saw in the breed standard.  Unfortunately we did not have many dogs in South Africa with my 'ideals' in their pedigrees.

At that time one of the most influential sires in South Africa was Ch & Ch (Eng) Denorsi Moonduster of Glenbervie.  I started my breeding programme by line breeding to this dog through one of his sons, Ch Baal of Merlanjo.

Later on I was fortunate to be able to bring into my line "Mintmaster" and "Astri".  When looking at the  pedigrees of our  past dogs you will see where they feature, albeit not as close up in the pedigree as I would have liked!

In order to carry on my line breeding programme I occasionally had to bring in new bloodlines which had been imported into South Africa. In 2000 we were very excited to import a dog ourselves, our  first import. Airescot Emerald Expression,  arrived in our home at 11 weeks old from Nenne Runsten, Airescot, Sweden.

We have been fortunate in that our plans have proved successful and continue breeding Whippets that conform to the breed standard and the type we have strived for over so many years.
