Nataliya and Seth's Orlando Vacation
After checking out, I mentioned a couple of minor problems with the room that they might want to fix before it developed into a major one. They thanked me and gave us a complimentary breakfast! I had a couple of things, but I brought breakfast with me - the leftover steak and potatoes from the previous night! It wasn't something that Nataliya wanted me to eat at breakfast, but I didn't care - it's STEAK! Mmmmm! We made our way to the airport, and after a slight detour, we made our way to the Alamo rental garage and returned our vehicle. What confused us is that the airport exit was 11B. What I didn't know is that the exit was only accessible from heading towards exit 11. At exit 12, I somehome found my way to the garage using the back roads. At the JetBlue counter, I couldn't find the film. We started opening up our bags to find it. It ended up being in the bag it was supposed to be. (I think I was very tired...) Once checked in, we went to the gate. The flight home was uneventful. It left on time. It landed a few minutes early. Another gold star on the JetBlue report card. Then there was the most entertaining part of our day. The rate of the taxi was $80 + tolls ($14) + tips. That's about $100! We could see the taxicab driver drooling! Well, we chose option 'b'. From JFK Airport to any point in Manhattan is a flat rate of $35 (plus tip), so we had him drive us to the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal. For $2.10 each, we got on a bus and got within two blocks of home. It may sound worse than it actually was, but we ended up getting home 15 minutes later than if we stayed on the taxi, but it cost us half as much as it would have cost otherwise! It wasn't worth paying him an additional $55 to drive those last three miles. Anyway, that's it. We were home. Nataliya threw all the clothes into the washing machine and we settled down, glad to be back after that long vacation, but already thinking about our next vacation in two weeks to La Jolla, California.
To all our company Through the years we'll all be friends Wherever we may be...
