Interest in Japanese music has steadily been growing since the '90s, and I have done my part to contribute (since 1999). With more artists touring the U.S. and/or playing at conventions, the only direction Japanese music is heading is global. So don't you want to jump on the bandwagon? So you're aware of what my musical tastes are, I prefer the rock scene with artists such as Dir en grey, Miyavi, Ellegarden, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, drug store cowboy, Gackt, L'Arc~en~Ciel, (pre-Lily of da Valley) Dragon Ash, Fake?, Penpals, and wyse to name a majority of them. I also enjoy indie bands like the Jetze Johnson, Gazette, and Sid (I used to get a Japanese magazine, Band Yaroze (totally awesome, had tabs, interviews, tips, cds), that would come with a sample CD of indie bands and stuff. But they stopped publishing it in 2004, so that's kind of where my familiarity with indie and Visual Kei bands ended.) Anyway, here's what I have to offer in the way of music related pages, enjoy: |
